Project365-Week 4

Friday January 22
Apparently I failed to take a picture for this day so....I'll put in one of the many I took from our trip to Boston over the weekend. Me and 'Red'

Saturday January 23
Our 11th anniversary, I took Eric to see the Blue Man group in Boston.

Sunday January 24
We went to Quincy Market, walked the Freedom Trail and found Rami Salami.

Monday January 25
Boys were in need of a haircut...BAD!

Tuesday January 26
The boys have a new favorite game that they made up with their Pepere. They stand up their toy soldiers and roll a ball to knock them down. The first one to knock them all down wins.

Wednesday January 27
Boys - "Look Mom we are twins!" ME- "Well being 14 months apart you are VERY close but you are NOT twins."

Thursday January 28
My dishwasher broke today. I did not realize it until I went to empty it this morning after breakfast. So, I had all of yesterday's dishes to wash that never got clean in the dishwasher, PLUS all of today's dishes. It took me 50 minutes to wash, dry and put them all away. Man I hope it gets fixed soon!

11th anniversary...Blue Man style

So after getting extremely spoiled by my wonderful husband for our 10th anniversary, I figured I would try to surprise him for our 11th. Our day started out with breakfast in bed, made by the kids...toast, yogurt and coffee.

Around noon we went to the boys basketball game. My in laws met us there to take the kids for an overnight and we headed out to Boston. We stayed at the Doubletree Hotel in Boston. Our friends Lisa and Shaun, who go to Boston frequently, were able to recommend Kennedy's nearby for dinner. After dinner at Kennedy's, we headed over to the Charles Playhouse for The Blue Man Group show. It was the most entertaining show I think I have ever seen. Eric was laughing non stop and thoroughly enjoyed it. He told me I got an A for a grade! YAY!

The next morning we took the T to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall. Eric enjoyed reading and hearing about Boston's history.

We explored the streets of Boston and ended up bumping into the clown, Rami Salami. He made us look ridiculous, but it was ok seeing we were heading back to the hotel.

On our way we ended up finding the Freedom Trail and spent some time there, reading all about the holocaust.

It was a wonderful anniversary away!

Project 365-Week 3

Friday January 15th
Sometimes I get in a routine and get a craving for a meal. I will then eat it everyday for months on end. My latest obsession is an all egg white omelet with spinach, mozzarella cheese and a side of turkey bacon...YUM!

Saturday January 16th
Our wonderful friends, the Meyers, came from PA to spend the weekend. Having four boys ages 5-7, it was non-stop action.

Sunday January 17th
The mudroom is coming along SLOWLY but surely, here Eric is priming the walls and ceiling.

Monday January 18
I always seem to get backed up on laundry over the weekend, making Monday laundry catch up day. At least the kids do their own laundry now:)

Tuesday January 19th
Parker had gotten a little lazy with guitar and I failed to keep on him so it was back to the book this week. Here are some flashcards I made to help him.

Wednesday January 20th
This is Blake and the baby of my best friend growing up. Blake is amazing with her. He would have made an awesome big brother.

Thursday January 21st
We are still working on Our Five Senses unit for school. Here we are playing a smelling game.

Project 365- Week 2

So, I was all excited about the pictures I took this week, but was very angry when I sat down at my pc to find that some little fingers, that start with P, had deleted half of them. ARG! So my Friday, Saturday and Sunday and pictures were deleted. I took some new ones to represent the activities...but they are just not the same :(

Any way here is what I have:

Friday January 8th
The picture Eric took, was of me and the kids snuggled up in the movie theatre during our Friday night movie night. So, I took a picture of our popcorn machine to represent the memory, seeing I no longer have that picture.

Saturday January 9th
These pictures were irreplaceable. A children's author came to our town library and the kids sat and listened to the story and then the illustrator showed them how to draw certain things. He sparked that inner artist in my kids and they have been doing A LOT of drawing since. I took a picture of the book we purchased from him to replace my missing pictures.

Sunday January 10th
I took a picture of my first Italian Bread that I made in my new bread machine that my hubby got me for Christmas. I replaced it with a picture of the machine instead.

Monday Janurary 11th
Hyper-Dash...one of the few games I can beat Eric at!

Tuesday January 12
The kids had MadScience today. They made molecules with toothpicks and different colored marshmellows.

Wednesday January 13
Four kids watching the van be taken away by a BIG tow truck for the Make a Wish Foundation.

Thursday January 14
My little chefs making pizza for dinner

Project 365

So a few of my friends do this thing called Project 365. I think it is a great idea and love viewing their projects. They take a picture every day of the year and blog about it. I have seen a few different ways to do it, so I'm comfortable with the fact that I can do it my own way...less pressure. I only hope I can keep it up. So without further ado here is week one of my Project 365.

January 1 This was my first picture of 2010 as Eric rolled his ankle playing nerf basketball in the bedroom less than a half hour before midnight.

January 2 We instituted a new rule in our home that the kids needed to earn their Wii time. They get two minutes of Wii time for every minute of reading they do. For the younger two it must be out loud to someone. Here Blake is reading to Parker.

January 3 These little LEGO Star Wars people have been a hit in the house since Christmas.

January 4 Back to school day! We started our new science unit on the Five Senses.

January 5 We rotate chores around the house by month. The whole month of January Kaleigh is in charge of dishes. She actually enjoys this job and asked me if it could be her permanent job.

January 6 We started reading 'Making Brothers and Sisters Best Friends as part of our morning routine. I thought I was going to get a lot of resistance to this new routine, but the kids are enjoying it and ask me to read more.

January 7 Parker and I finally got around to building one of his LEGO Star Wars ships. I must say he did very well for 568 pieces.

2009 goes out with a POP!

After a wonderful night out to dinner with Eric's family and some fun at our friends, the Boydens, we headed home a little early. I wasn't feeling the greatest and just wanted to go to bed. We arrived home at about 11:15 and every one headed up to get jammies on and teeth brushed. While we were waiting for Kaleigh the three boys decided to start a game of basketball in the bedroom. Well lets just say that 2009 ended with a bang for Eric...well it was more like a POP! I think it's broken...he says just a bad sprain...time will tell.

Happy 50th Karen

On December 26th we traveled up to my cousin's house in MA to celebrate my cousin Karen's 50th birthday. It was wonderful to see those that were there under good circumstances. It seems that the only time my family gets together lately is for a funeral. Here are some pics of the happy occasion.

Me and the birthday girl

Bob Me and Jay

Glad we could be there to celebrate your 50th Karen...LOVE YOU!

Christmas 2009

It is our family Christmas tradition to have Mem-Mem sleep over on Christmas -Eve, wake up and open presents, This is what presents for 14 looked like Yes even the dog got a present! We watch a movie and eat frozen pizza and relax on Christmas morning and early afternoon. This year we were 14 around the table for dinner. Eric cooked up an amazing scallop and salmon dinner along with a chicken for those non-seafood eaters. He even did a homemade clam chowder as an appetizer. After dinner Parker played Christmas Carols and we all sang along.
