Family Day

This week, Parker has been on April vacation from school and was wanting to spend some time as a family doing something fun.  After several days of trying to come up with something to do, we settled on going to Rocky Neck for the day.  We started off with a bike ride through the facilities.

Then headed to the beach for a little football.

At this point, the sun was getting to Eric's head and causing hives.  I switched shirts with him, as mine had a hood and off we went to the rocks to do some crabbing.

On my way back to the beach, I spotted this seagull with a bum foot.  Poor thing...

Back at the beach, Parker tried his hand at photography. Here are some of the shots he took.....

It was a great day that was much needed!

April 2013 Part 1

I have come to the realization that my weekly blogging may be a thing of the past, but that is ok.  As long as I am documenting as much as I can for a blog book.  So without further ado....here is April Part One.

April 1st came and went without one single prank in our home, which is highly unusual.  I was sick and everyone else was just too tired to care after Cantata week and Easter festivities.
Tuesday, April 2nd, I attended a Common Core workshop put on by the school.  It was good for me as a parent and educator to see the shift that our nation is undergoing in regards to education.  I got a plethora of information to look over.

Thursday, April 4th, Blake went in to get some testing done seeing he will be attending public school for 5th grade next year.  I was so pleased that having never stepped foot in a classroom, he is testing out at a 5th grade reading level while only in 4th grade.

Friday, April 5th, I think it's time for new sneakers.

Monday, April 8th,  Blake wanted to do his reading out of the hammock on this beautiful day of 65 degrees.  Guess he didn't get too far.

Tuesday, April 9th,  I went on a trail ride at Arcadia in RI.  It was a great ride, till we got back to the trailer only to find I had a flat tire on it.  Thanks to God and the smarts of my pal Loree, we were able to change it and get back home!

Wednesday, April 10th, Love being able to hang clothes on the line!

Thursday, April 11th, went to Invention Convention at Parker's school.  Goofy face.

Here he is demonstrating his invention.....Sport Strength For Legs.

He came in third place for his invention...way to go Buddy!!!!

Friday April 12th,  I love when my kids ask if they can help me cook!

Saturday, April 13th, Kaleigh is currently pet-sitting TWO dogs at the same time.  So far, so good!

Sunday, April 14th, basketball got a little out of control in the boy's bedroom and our guest put his knee through the wall.  Ooops!  Good thing the boy's room has not been painted yet.

Easter 2013

Our morning started just about the same as every other Sunday morning...we got dressed and headed off to church.  It was a little different in that Eric required all three of the kids to sit in church with us rather than going to Sunday School.  After church, we headed up to Eric's grandparents place in RI.  The kids were dying to get out of their church clothes so we took lots of photos and then let them change.
Uh-Oh Grampy has them in the ear lock!
                                                                  My babies <3 p="">

My husband couldn't stand being serious for 2 minutes for pictures :)
                                                               Love these boys!
                                                        Mama's boys
Me and my sweet girl...growing up so fast!
                                                             Gram and the gang

After lunch we went outside for the annual egg hunt

Then the adults walked around trying to find where they hid the last two eggs.
                                  awwwwww...Great Gramps and Kaleigh

Easter would not be complete without a game of four generations basketball

After all of this we headed back to church for the third and final performance of our Easter show.  It boggles my mind that with all the work and time I put in with the Easter production at our church, I failed to take one single picture of myself or my two children that acted in it.  :(  The entire week was crazy busy.  I think there was only one night that I was not at church that week.  As I write this on April 7th...I'm still trying to play catch up with housework and what not.  Good thing about housework is that is is always there waiting for you..LOL!

March 2013

March 1st
Our March started out perfectly, with a trail ride of course.

March 3rd
We had the basketball breakfast banquet where the kids get their awards and the coaches talk about how they have grown over the season.  It was nice to hear coach say that Blake has real potential as he can usually find the basket and Parker's coach call him a rebounding machine.

March 4th
I mustache you a question.

March 5th
We got invited to go on a trail ride at Pachaug State Forest.  The only problem was that the trailer was plowed in.  Kaleigh wanted to go so bad that she got out there with a shovel and started digging it out.

First time taking the trailer out!

Bucky says, "Are we here?"

March 12
Eric needed to get the apartment cleaned to get it rented so we all went over and put in a few hours.

March 16
Sleepover!  Kaleigh had Karli over.  Blake had Kolby over, and Parker was over Andrew's house.

March 17
We took, Joe,  the son of Mem's aid to church with us.  After we got home the boys played a game of bump.

Then we enjoyed a little corned beef and cabbage per request of Eric.

March 18
Having 3 boys in the house can sometimes be frustrating.  I bought this bag of grapes just 8 hours ago and it is already almost GONE!

March 20
Easter egg decorating time!

March 21
Parker was involved in a Big and Littles basketball tournament.  Two little kids (Grades 3-5) got paired with a big kid (Grades 6-8) for a three on three game.  It was a lot of fun with great half time entertainment.  It was a way for the kids to have a little fun after all that CMT testing.

March 26
Parker's Invention for the Invention Convention.  He calls it "Sports Strength For Legs"

March 27
Working on numbers with Chesney.

March 29
It was a Good Friday indeed!  Everyone I love working together to make the vehicles sparkle...inside and out..AND great weather too!

March 30
The kids had such a good time watching this bird pick apart a dead opossum that was in the yard.  It was even cooler to watch him try to fly away with it.  Epic fail!  LOL! Afterwards, they went outside to check out the guts and stuff left behind.  It was funny to hear the conversation as we all gathered around it poking it with sticks.

March 31
Happy Easter!  Love, The Sharps
