Dunk

Thursday was our last night of youth group at the church. To end the night, the team that raised the most $ for Little Lambs gets to dunk a leader in the dunking booth. The winning team gets to throw for free. Other people may pay $1.00 for three throws. The kids LOVE it and it raises a lot of money for Little Lambs. This was our second year and we doubled last years figure and raised almost $500 for Little Lambs. About $450 of that was in pennies. I was really proud of Parker and Kaleigh because they took the inititave to raise their own money. Parker bargined with me that he would do extra chores and earn 60 pennies for every extra chore he did. Kaleigh raised some pennies through the World Missions Fair. I think it is important for them to be the ones excited and thinking about it otherwise it's just me giving them money to earn a Christian Service. If they are not the ones making the effort, it does nothing for their heart or their walk with God. I pray they will continue to have a growing desire for God's work.

All Boy

This past Tuesday was a tiring one for me. I had to leave the house by 6:30 to be to work. I didn't get home till 4:15. I was exhausted and the boys couldn't wait to show me their new pets. Oh no not another frog I thought! NOPE! They came running up to me with two baby garden snakes that they had found with Daddy while working in the yard. Yup they are all boy!

World Missions and Science Fair

May 20th the kids participated in a World Missions/Science Fair. It was put on through a Christian Homeschooling group that I am part of. Kaleigh had been studying the solar system so she did a display for that for the science portion. For the Missions portion of it we highlighted our friends, the Kinzers, in Kenya Africa who are working with Little Lambs, amoung other things. Little Lambs is a organization for AIDS orphans. The kids had fun learning about Africa and putting together our presentation. Kaleigh passed out prayer cards and did a penny drive to raise money for them. This fit perfectly because the youth group at our church was doing a penny drive in the month of May, so she was able to add what she collected to that total. It was a great way to learn about Africa and learn about what they are doing there. I was very proud at the kids presentations. A little upset about the fact that I left my camera at home that day. Oh well. I at least have a picture of them working on the poster board the week before.

Today was Kaleigh's first horse show....kinda. It was a schooling show where the trainer works with them during the show to get them ready for the "real show". Kaleigh and her good friend Emily entered in the show together. Kaleigh took 4th place in the lead line walk, trot and 5th place in the lead line walk, trot trail. She also entered a non- lead line class and took 6th. I was a very proud mama seeing she was the youngest in that class and had a tempermental horse. She did well showing her who was boss. Here is a video of part of her day.

Rockin Parker

Parker wanted me to post this for Aunt Lee Ann to see. This is his first song. It is Rockin' Robin if you can't tell. I think he is doing pretty good for having his first guitar lesson on March 10th.
