Maine Vacation

Maine Vacation!!
We usually go on a camping trip every year. This year we decided to combine our trip with an out of state wedding. It worked out well. We stayed at a little campground called Green Valley in Vassalboro, Maine.

We got there on Tuesday, around 4pm, and began to set up shop. The forecast called for rain so we took extra precautions to avoid getting wet, and set up our canopy over our tent.

Wednesday was a wash out, so we went to the Maine State Museum.
A cool chair make entirely out of antlers.

Daddy playing teacher.

Parker in front of the capitol building.

Thursday we headed over to a place called Monkey C Monkey Do. It is a high ropes adventure course. We all LOVED it!

Kaleigh on the zip line. She is the one on the left.

I wish I had the camera the other way, but I was trying to get the sudden drop in the shot. Here is Parker on the drop swing.

After our adventure was over, we went to a lobster place down the road for dinner.

The next couple of days we spent relaxing around the campground. The kids spent time playing, fishing, and enjoying some of the activities the campground had to offer. I took the opportunity to relax and read. I was able to read about 600 of my 1589 page book.

We have these crystals we throw in the fire to make it turn colors. The kids love it and Blake refers to it as "romance". He woke up one morning and asked us if we did our "romance" last night. We got a kick out of THAT question.

The campground had a huge pirate ship that the kids spent some time playing in. They even had Story Hour there, which was of course a cute pirate story.

Kaleigh was the only one besides Daddy to actually reel in a fish!

Friday and Saturday were finally warm enough to shed the pants and sweatshirts and enjoy the lake.

Just listen to the sound of laughter as they play 'King of the Lake'

Being Silly

Saturday afternoon we headed up an hour north to attend the wedding of Tessa and Forrest. It was a beautiful wedding and we wish nothing but the best for this wonderful couple.

I thought this was a adorable shot of Kaleigh and her father walking up the isle together. To think this could be her in a wedding dress 10 years from now is quite scary!

Sunday we spent packing up and heading home. The traffic was a nightmare, but we made it home safe and sound and had a wonderful time as a family. Praise God!
