Week 13

Sunday March 25th
Had friends over for a few hours for lunch, then it was back to church for Cantata practice.  I had to pack our dinner to eat between practice and church.  PB& J with baby carrots and  Sunny D.  Dinner of Champions, I tell ya!

Monday March 26th
Astronaut Batty-Ratty!

Tuesday March 27th
Blake's cursive book came in.  I wanted to get a picture but he kept sticking out his tongue.
 Got him!

Wednesday March 28th
Blake finally got permission from Parker to ride the quad.

Friday March 30th
We have had a problem with the toilet leaking onto the basement floor, so Eric pulled it apart to fix it.  Not everyday you see a toilet sitting in the hallway.

Saturday March 31st
The kids had friends over and they played volleyball in the living room because it was raining outside.  It kept them busy until the ball popped.

A Blake-ism

Blake is our most witty of the three and is always coming out with funny comebacks, etc.  I wanted to remember this so I decided to blog it.  This scene occured at bedtime one evening.

Blake: Dad I like my sheets nice and cool.

Dad:  Yeah so do I buddy, I like my pillow cool too.

Blake:  Hmm....I must have YOUR particles.

Week 12

Sunday March 18th
I was so sick.  I moved from the bed to the couch, to a lawn chair and back to the couch again.  No pics!

Monday March 19th
Back to Science classes at Mystic Aquarium!

Tuesday March 20th
The boys taking some time out for a game of 'Bump' on this marvelous first day of spring!!!

Wednesday March 21st
Kaleigh showing Chesney how to groom the dog.
Thursday March 22nd
Who needs a beach, when you have a big sandbox!

Friday March 23rd
Parker and Daddy worked on his quad to make it run great for quadding with a friend over the weekend.  We had called places to find out how much a tune up would cost for ha-ha's.  $125.  Eric and Parker did it all AND fixed the brakes for $42!  So glad he has a great Daddy to teach him all this man-stuff :)

Saturday March 24th
This week was absolutely amazing with temps in the mid to upper 70's.  I think we even hit 80 one day!  Kaleigh took this picture.

Week 11

Sunday March 11th
Parker made the All- Star basketball team.  They practiced four nights a week for two weeks, until the tournament this past weekend.  They had five games in three days. He was tuckered out, but happy that they came in third place.

Monday March 12th
The weather was too nice to be inside, so we moved school outside.

Tuesday March 13th
Parker wanted cookies for dessert, so Kaleigh kindly made them for him.

Wednesday March 14th
Yup, my kids are rednecks.  They enjoy racing the tractor around the yard.

Thursday March 15th
It was Safari Night at youth group.  I love to dress up, can ya tell?

Friday March 16th
A night with nowhere to be...YES!!!!  We snuggled in front of a movie.  After it was over. Parker and Kaleigh tried a cookie game that Kaleigh knew about.  You have to get the cookie from your forehead to your mouth by using your face muscles,  It was hysterical to watch.

Saturday March 17th
Kaleigh participated in her first Horse Quiz Bowl with her 4-H group.  Although she did not place individually, her team took second place in the junior division.

Week 10

Sunday March 4th
Nope nothing!

Monday March 5th
The boys made up a little game of who could knock the hat off the other first with the lightsaber.  It was cute.

Tuesday March 6th
As soon as I woke up I knew something was wrong with the dog.  He smelled like he was rotting from the inside out. Eric and I immediately called the vet.  We found out he had a very badly infected anal gland and they did some tests to see if we could find out why he has lost 17 pounds in 6 months.  Although, the tests all came back good, they think he has cancer, which can only be determined with an X-ray.  We said we would pass on that and just let him live out his life till he can't anymore.

Wednesday March 7th
Mac had started this bad habit of getting up on the couch after everyone went to bed at night.  I foil his plan each night, by folding the back cushions down.  I had forgotten to do it the night before and because of his infection the couch smelled awful.  Good thing is that I have cushions that have removable covers.  One of the reasons I bought it 9 years ago!  So the cushions went outside to air out and the covers got washed.  I'm embarrassed to say that is was the first time since we bought the couch that I had washed them, but my couch smells GREAT now! :)

Thursday March 8th
It really is a shame he didn't get to become a big brother.  He was so sweet to read Chesney a story.  He is going to be a great Dad someday.

Friday March 9th
Eric and I had an appointment to get new tires for both vehicles.  While we waited for the cars to be done, we had a breakfast date at McDonalds.

Saturday March 10th
Eric called me from the driveway as he was on his way to work and said. "Come outside.  You have to see this."  There were two hawks mating in a tree in our yard.  It was interesting to watch and to listen to the noise they were making.

Blake Shelton

Eric and I have been big fans of Blake Shelton since Kaleigh was a baby and we saw him perform at the Brooklyn Fair.  His career has grown over the years and I was totally excited when I heard we has coming to one of the nearby casinos.  I mentioned it to Eric, who had been wanting to take the boys to see Blake in concert, because they are big fans and can play many of his songs.  He investigated the ticket prices and there was no way we could afford tickets for all.  We could barely afford three for him to take the boys.  God ended up providing tickets for everyone who wanted to go.  My aunt gets free tickets to all the performances, so she took me, and two hours before the show, Eric landed tickets on Craigslist for a fraction of the price the box office was selling them for.  It was a great night, with GREAT seats and great big smiles!

Week 9

Sunday February 26th
We had the banquet ceremony for the end of the basketball season.

The boys with Coach John and Coach Troy.
Tuesday February 28th
Daddy didn't have to be into work till 12pm, so the boys begged him to play a game with them.

Wednesday February 29th
We have dinner over my mom's every Wednesday night.  After dinner Blake and Pepere had a serious game of checkers.

Thursday March 1st
I think the kids know their time with Mac is drawing near the end, they can often be found snuggling with him.

Friday March 3rd
Kaleigh got a good report from the dentist...NO CAVITIES!!!

Saturday March 3rd
We were invited to a birthday party at the Rain Forest Cafe in West Hartford.  It was the first time the boys and I had been there.  It was pretty cool.
                                                  Kaleigh and the birthday girl!
Parker drinking his root beer,  The bottle freaked me out at first and I had to taste it to make sure it really was soda.. LOL

Week 8

Sunday February 19th
The day before Kaleigh had fallen while roller blading and hurt her wrist.  She was still in quite a bit of pain and her wrist was swollen, so we headed to the ER to have it checked out.  Yup, ANOTHER buckle fracture!  She is now forbidden to roller skate as this is our third time to the hospital after this type of activity.
Monday February 20th
On our way south, I was shocked and pleased to find out that my GPS had me traveling right through my brother and sister in laws house.   Literally!  You can see their house from the interstate.  So I HAD to stop to see my nephew.

It was so funny to watch Levi interact, he definitely has a favorite cousin.  Poor Kaleigh got the "girls are yuck" look from him.

Tuesday February 21st-Thursday Feb 22nd
After three days with out BFF's in the warm and beautiful south, I was begging Eric to move.

Friday February 23rd
On our way back to CT we stayed overnight at the Meyer-Levia house.  It was nice to see Karen, Willy and the kids.
