Week 43

This is a very short week with hardly any pictures.
Tuesday October 23
It was crazy hair day at school.  Parker had fun planning his hairdo. 

Friday October 27
The hubby was home sick on Wednesday and Thursday, but was feeling better on Friday.  Friday is his normal day off of work, so he and Blake had some special time together and went fishing. Here are some pics from their day.

Friday night was Trunk or Treat at our local fire complex.  It was our first time there and it was amazing.  Teachers and parents from town decorated the trunks of their cars and the kids went around trick or treating.  The inside of the firehouse was set up with food and games as well as a walk through haunted house.  It was a lot of fun.  I coaxed Eric into taking a few pictures of the boys playing games as it was too dark outside to take pictures of the trunks :(

Week 42

Sunday October 14th
The wood furnace is now up and running!  YAY!  No more thousands of dollar oil bills.

Tuesday October 16
We have started our hunt for a horse.  This is Cypress.  Kaleigh has gone up to ride her twice now.  She is a beauty and we were about to make a decision on her, when a free lease came into the picture.  We are going to try the free lease out when the owner gets back from vacation. 

Friday October 20

Kaleigh had Alyssa sleep over.  They did nails and stayed up till 5 am!

Schroon Lake, NY- 10/8

On Monday we took a walk around town and around part of the lake.  It was absolutely beautiful and we couldn't resist taking LOTS of pictures!

                           Kaleigh took this picture of the tree and lamp post.  I LOVE it!

 When we got back to Lori's, the kids decided to rake up a BIG leaf pile and jump into it using the little trampoline.  It was great to watch them have such a good time.  I did wonder however if we were going to have to go to the ER for a broken arm or something. 

It was soooo good to see them, I hope they can come down and stay with us for a few days real soon!

Schroon Lake, NY- 10/7

Over Columbus Day weekend the kids left Eric and Mem and headed to upstate NY to visit with goood friends.  It had been a little over a year since they had moved up there and our visit was long overdue.  On Sunday we took a ferry to Vermont and went apple picking.  I thought it was so cool to be able to drive right onto the ferry.

 Parker got himself stuck in a rather uncomforatable position!

Week 41

Sunday October 7
We went apple picking in Vermont.

Monday October 8
Took a stroll along Schroon Lake did take some photo opportunities.

Tuesday October 9
Eric is at the church every Tuesday night for band practice and most of the day on Sundays.  What many don't realize is the time be puts in outside of church.  He spends countless hours studying and researching things so he can do his best for the Lord.  This is yet another sound engineering website that was left up on my pc when I went to use it.

I usually try to make Fridays a short and fun day of school, with games to reinforce what we have been learning about.  Here they are playing the Parts of Speech game.

Week 40

Sunday September 30
Took Mem on an adventure-Apple Picking!

Monday October 1st
Our library is having a candy corn creation contest, so Blake got started on his creation.

Tuesday October 2nd
Topsoil for the riding ring was delivered.

Wednesday October 3rd
This is how Parker came out of the shower.

Thursday October 4th
Had Xavier for the day.  The kids LOVED having him.

Friday October 5th
We have been in the candy corn spirit this week so I decided to do my nails candy corn too.

Saturday October 6th
The kids and I headed up to Schroon Lake, NY to see a friend.  This was the view on the way up.

Apple Picking

We decided to take a Sunday and go apple picking at Buell's before the big Columbus Day hooplah took place. So we packed Mem and her scooter up and headed out.

                                      Mem decided she didn't want to ride on the hay ride, so he ended up following the tractor out to the pumpkin patch.  It was a long and bumpy path, so Mem decided to ride the hay ride back.

We were just about there when the sky opened up and it started to pour.  Poor Mem.  Let's just say she will never forget her adventure to the apple orchard.
