My daughter has beautiful curly hair but it is very difficult to cut. All one length with a straight cut just doesn't work for her. She has very fine hair and needs layers to add some volume to it, which is something I don't feel confident to do. So, twice a year we go see Carmen.
I'm not too picky about my children's hair. There are a few things I won't allow, but Kaleigh pretty much has free reign when it comes to cut styles. This time around, she wanted bangs. We did do bangs a couple years back and it didn't work out so well because I was the one who had to straighten her bangs every day. So I made her grow them out. We will see how it goes now that she is a little older.

I love to record to small happenings of our life to look back on years from now and see how God leads us and loves us.

Project 365- Week 12
Friday March 19th
My hubby went in to surgery to repair a torn ligament. Now he gets to sport this cast for the next 10 days.
Saturday March 20th
With temperatures in the upper 60's Blake wasn't sure what to wear. Bathing suit, t-shirt, winter boots? How about all three!
Sunday March 21st
With Spring officially here and Easter around the corner, I decided to do something a little fun on the mantle.
Monday March 22nd
Parker's turn for surgery. They removed the rods he had in his femur from when he broke it over a year ago. Dr. Lee even let him keep the rods!
Tuesday March 23rd
Tuesday was a little cold and rainy, so my hubby lit a fire and we got some snuggle time in front of it.
Wednesday March 24th
Poor Macaveli!
Thursday March 25th
Although it is much more time consuming than just throwing a load in the dryer, I love that fact that I am saving money to dry my clothes, not to mention I love the way they smell after being hung out.

Parker's Surgery
On Monday March 22nd we woke to the alarm at 5 am and immediately got dressed and packed up a few things, we took Parker from his bed and from a sound sleep to head out the door for Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
It was dark outside and hardly any traffic, so I set my cruise control for 75 and drove along, sipping my coffee and enjoying my quiet tunes, hoping that Parker would fall back asleep for the trip. I came up on a car in the left lane, so I passed him on the right only to see moments later, blue and red flashing lights. The cop tried to tell me I was going 85, which I immediately told him there was no way because I had my cruise control set. My husband then took over the situation, of which I was making worse with each word I uttered. Long story short, a written warning for passing on the right.
We arrived to CCMC ten minutes late, of which no body knew because it took me 20 just to wait in line to register Parker. We got through to drills and were placed in our room while we waited for Dr.Lee. It was here that Parker, got in his cool jammies and got to pick out the scent for his mask. He picked watermelon.
One of us were allowed to go into the OR with him. He chose Daddy, so Daddy got to wear a cool gown, hair piece and mask.
The most exciting part for him was getting to drive a power wheel into the OR.
After surgery, he was REALLY grumpy and nothing made him happy. He just wanted to go home. In order to make that happen he needed to be able to walk on his crutches and go up and down a few stairs. His friend Rosie from PT taught him how to do these things and we were on our way home by 11am.
He was extremely sore and this is what he did for most of the day. My two laid up boys!
That night when we finally got him into our bed, he looked at his father and said "Daddy something is wrong" Eric looked at his knee and before our very eyes a huge blood soaked stain began to form and grow.
I was a little freaked out because the nurses had told us that if he had a blood spot bigger than the size of a quarter we were to call immediately. So we did. The doctor asked Eric several questions and felt confident that it was normal. They had filled his femur with lots of fluid after removing the rods. (Oh yeah Dr. Lee let him keep the rods they took out of his femur. Pretty cool, huh?) He instructed us that if it did not stop bleeding to call him back. We prayed, it stopped and I was relieved that we did not have to drive back to Hartford at 9pm.
On Tuesday, we got a surprise visit from the Wolfe family. Parker was happy to get off the couch and play with his buddy Colby.
Today he was doing well with his crutches and even began to put a little weight on that leg.
We get to take the ace bandage off on Thursday and we gets to take his first shower. I'm sure he will like that because he does NOT like sponge baths. He is scheduled to go back to the Dr. on Good Friday.
Please pray for him and for me, as he will have 6-8 weeks of recovery and trying to keep a little boys from running and jumping in nice spring weather is going to prove difficult. Thank you!

Project 365-Week 11
Friday March 12th
How can they make food in the shapes of animals and then tell kids NOT to play with their food?
Saturday March 13th
Praise God my dishwasher is back in service!
Sunday March 14th
We spent all day shopping for a suit for Eric so that he looked outstanding for his meeting with Govenor Rell. After much discussion, he decided to go with a nice blazer instead. I wish I thought to take a picture of him all dressed in it, but things got a little crazy in the a.m. trying to get him out the door on time. Here it is ready to be ironed and put together for the big day.
Monday March 15th
My Zumba class!
Tuesday March 16th
Blake got this little chia pet guy at the Olympian store. Take a guess who in the family waters him and cuts his hair? ERIC! LOL!
Wednesday March 17th
A little St. Patty's day school work.
No picture for Thursday :(

Project 365- Week 10
Friday March 5th was spent out of the house more than in the house. We had doctor's appointments, swimming, visiting my grandmother and dropping Kaleigh off at a birthday slumber party. (Thanks for letting me use your picture from your camera, Kaleigh!)
Saturday March 6th was spent cleaning the church and riding horses. SORRY NO PICTURES
Sunday March 7th we went on a hike after church. Kaleigh and the boys had a friend over. The six of us enjoyed an hour and a half hike through the woods behind our house. (well most of us enjoyed it!)
Monday March 8th was the scheduled date for Parker's surgery. I however misunderstood the nurse who called to give us instructions 2 days prior. I ended up giving him fruit 6 hours before surgery and they ended up sending him home without doing the surgery. I was amazed at how well Eric took it seeing he had gotten the day off of work to be there with him and now the day was wasted. We ended up making the most of it and went out to lunch and did a little shopping for much needed clothes for that growing boy!
Tuesday March 9th Daddy and Parker spent the morning putting together the bike he got for Christmas. He has 2 weeks to ride before he goes for surgery and then won't be able to ride for 6-8 weeks.
Wednesday March 10th we spent the whole afternoon outside enjoying the sun and fresh air.
Thursday March 11th Parker playing 'My Girl'

Project 365- Week 9
Friday, February 26th
We go swimming every other Friday at Camp Hemlock in Hebron with a group of homeschoolers. I failed to take a picture of our adventure, but here is one of my all-time favorite swimming pictures. It is Parker at 13 months in my mom's pool. It cracks me up everytime I see it.
Saturday, February 27th
The kids all made silver level at Olympians and were rewarded with a game of lazer tag....even I got to play!
Sunday, February 28th
Before bed the kids and Daddy had a game of Nerf basketball. Eric pretty much just stood there because of his bum ankle.
Monday, March 1st
Parker playing with a peice of my turkey bacon. He thought it looked like a dog's tongue.
Tuesday, March 2nd
Parker moved into a new guitar book and is extremely psyched about it. He spent about an hour practicing his new songs.
Wednesday, March 3rd
I had my friend's little guy, we worked on a Cars puzzle.
Thursday, March 4th
My mom's birthday...Kaleigh and Blake spent their own money and bought her a necklace and earring set and Parker decided to make her a cake.

Bye Bye Basketball
This past Saturday was the last day of basketball for my boys. They both absolutely loved it and have improved leaps and bounds since last year. Parker loves playing so much that he wants to continue with basketball this summer rather than baseball. One of the coaches gave me a heads up on a clinic over the summer, so I will be looking into it for him. This was Parker's last year in the K-2 skills and drills clinic. Next year he will move up to the next level. Blake has one more year in the K-2 clinic. At the end each of the kids were presented with medals for their accomplishments. Memere, Pepere and Grammie can out to cheer them on.
