Project 365- Week 4

No pics for Monday or Tuesday :(

Saturday January 22
This was a Saturday to remember. Eric had taken the day off due to our anniversary and he was able to see Parker play in a game. He helped John coach and Parker made his first shot during a game! They were both so very excited.

We ended up winning the game

And went out to Friendly's for lunch to celebrate the fact that Daddy finally had a Saturday off AND that Parker made his first career shot ;)

After lunch, Eric and I headed out to celebrate 12 years of marriage. We went out to the Summer Shack, in the casino, for dinner and then took in a comedy show at the Cabaret theatre. Thank you to Tessa and Forrest for staying with the kids!

Sunday January 23rd
We had special musical guests Living Proof, so Eric was at the church from 7:30 am - 7:30 pm, with the exception of four hours in between. He came home and had lunch with us for about an hour and then was off to the apartment to fix some leaky plumbing. He was back at the church for 4pm. Living proof was amazing and Kaleigh and Parker just HAD to get their autographs.

Wednesday January 26th
We got about 6 more inches of snow, so we decided to go out and try to build an igloo. We packed the snow in our recyclable buckets and starting stacking the blocks.

After about two and a half hours it started getting dark, I had lost 2 of my helpers, and was VERY tired, so we called it quits.

Thursday January 27th
We woke up to see that the overnight storm had dropped another 16 inches! We thought we could finish up our igloo but the snow kept sticking inside the buckets, so we ended up digging out a cave in one of our huge mounds of snow instead.

My two little diggers were happy as clams inside their secret hideout.

Friday January 28th
This was Macaveli's 5th visit to the vet for a nasty eye infection that we have been battling for the past 5 weeks. It was so bad he couldn't even open his eyes. He went through 2 tubes of antibiotics and is now on his third tube of antibiotic/steroids. He can see now....but all I see is $$$$$$$$ LOL!

We started the day off with a basketball game.

After battling against a great defense, we won 13-10!

The boys buddy, Max, came over after the game for lunch and some fun!

Sunday January 16th
The day consisted of relaxing in front of the football game.....

....and Mommy giving haircuts.

Monday January 17th
Even though the public schools were off, we made the most of the day and continued with our lessons. After lunch, we sat down and read about the man of the day.

Tuesday January 18th
The kids borrowed my Mom's Just Dance game for the Wii.

I took a video...sorry about the shaking. I couldn't stop laughing.

Wednesday January 19th
One of my favorite parts of my day is snuggling up with Blake for our reading lesson. No I'm not asleep! LOL!

Thursday January 20th
My boys have really been into their Legos this week.

Friday January 21st
Every two weeks I go to BJ's and Price Rite and get most of my groceries. This is what my trunk looked like after my two stops. The white garbage bag is just my fruits and vegetables. This should get us to February.

Project 365- Week 2

Saturday January 9th
Was a busy day for me. I went to Rhode Island in the morning for Vanessa's baby shower. She is one of my many favorites from my hubby's side of the family.
Then I hurried back for Parker's basketball game.
They WON! They are 1-1 now.

Sunday January 9th
We spent the afternoon playing Apples to Apples Family. The kids are loving this game!

Monday January 10th
Parker has been really interested in cooking lately and announced that he wants to be a chef when he grows up. Here he is cooking turkey bacon.

Tuesday January 11th
More sledding!

Wednesday January 12th I went outside around 11am to see how many inches of snow we had gotten. 20 inches! By the time the storm was all done we had 23 inches! Many highways had been shut down and it was nice for the entire family to be snowed in. Well, for most of the day. It took Eric 3 hours to snowblow our driveway and another 1 1/2 to do the driveway at the apartment. I felt bad for him being out in that cold for so long. Perhaps he should start thinking about investing in a plow...much faster and WARMER!

Thursday January 13th
Parker is catching some snuggle time with Mac!
Friday January 14th
We hit a library that we don't often go to, the librarian was so helpful and we got LOTS of books!

Wednesday January 5th
Blake had his very first drum lesson.

Thursday January 6th
Went up to bed to find these notes hanging on the mirror in my bathroom. Awwwww!

What my mudroom looked like after 6 kids came in from playing in the snow. I can't wait till my mudroom is finished!

Friday December 31st
New Years Eve we went over to the Boydens to eat some great food and play some games. It was a very interesting night, in that, the most popular game the adults ended up getting into was the kids game Hedbandz. And at one point in the night all the children were out sledding while all the adults were inside watching Toy Story 3. We had a great night with a ton of laughs as usual!

Sledding-An extreme sport

If you don't remember two years ago my son, Parker, hit a tree while sledding on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in January. It was a long process with healing, physical therapy to walk again then the removal of the rods about a year ago. You would never know by watching him that he ever went through that ordeal. The only lasting impression was his fear of sledding. As a matter of fact, we were out shopping on Christmas Eve when I paused to look at a display of sleds. Parker looked at me and said, "Don't even think about it" LOL! I laughed and we talked about how God was with him on that day and that the odds of hitting a tree twice in your lifetime was pretty slim. I was a bit taken back when two days after Christmas he asked us if we could go sledding. I asked him where he wanted to go and he relpied, "Somewhere without trees!" Smart choice! :) So we headed over to Norwich Golf Course and had a blast! Here is a video of Parker going down!

I thought we were over our bad luck where sledding is concerned....until New Years Eve! The kids go sledding every year at our friend's place. That is where Blake decided to sled into a wooden bench at their house and slice his head open. God provided once again with our own nurse on site. They cleaned him up best as they could to try to see if it would need stitches. He didn't think so, so we did the old baggie of ice and paper towels to try to stop the bleeding and take down the swelling. The joke for that night was about sledding being an EXTREME sport for the Sharps. I say, with three boys in the house...almost every thing is EXTREME!
